so i walked to school eating an orange.

at the corner before campus i saw a couple kissing, quite lovingly, before parting ways. subsequently, one took a diagonal path to the left, and the other continued on in the direction i was walking. as we approached the end of the sidewalk, the one i was following stopped dead and checked his pockets with some urgency. he looked pretty upset and uncertain about what to do. i figured he'd forgotten something important with his lover (keys, wallet, epi-pen). he turned back and quickly retraced steps, i'm assuming back to where the diagonal path had begun.

as i approached my destination i saw his other(better?) half headed in the same direction.

i had a bit of a crisis in the moments following.

two men, they were. at first i hadn't noticed because they were both wearing toques. one tall, one short.

if this had been a boy and a girl and the girl had stopped and looked panic-ish in front of me, upon seeing the boyfriend i'd likely mention that she was following him looking upset, so that he wouldn't traipse off to parts unknown without potentially resolving the crisis.

so why did i feel so awkward about being a good samaritan when it was a gay couple? sexual preference doesn't affect me, right?

so i caught up to the tall boy at the elevator. i explained that "heh, this might sound weird, but... and he is probably trying to find you now"

as he replied with "oh! you're probably talking about my boyfriend! he probably has no money for the train! thanks!!"

i felt good for doing something with the information i had gathered in my walking to school observation. i felt bad for appearing nosy. i also felt bad for almost not saying anything because they were both boys. but i felt good for not letting that stop me.
