a friend sent me photos he'd taken in ns today. polletts cove, august 2003 "this place is special for the mode of contemplation it allows. i question, but fail to find answers here. it is here where absolutes are not necessary to uncover. here where playing fields are not level, but rolling, rocky, wave swept and river split. a physical reminder that the most beautiful times and places in our lives are the most diverse and challenging. sun kissed and salt stung, i retreat to a point where endless sea entertains my right periphery and hills hold intrigue and history at my left. i will leave this place having confronted any misunderstanding and insecurities with which i came, knowing full well that my heart is true to my actions, and my thought ultimately can blow trouble about like a swift seaward or centrally like a swirling tornado. but on passing through that coniferous hallowed hall, i am at peace." a sense of place is hard to find in a city.
